'The Loot' to Open on Clarence Main Street

Visual merchandising expert, Anna Woodward, brought her expertise to retailers on the Clarence Main Street earlier this summer, and now she'll be joining that close knit community herself. Anna's shop, The Loot, located at 611 Lombard Street, is a pop-up boutique specializing in modern mixed with vintage clothing. The business promotes a "circular life cycle" for fashion items through reuse, resale, and reduction of textile waste. Approximately every second a garbage truck of textiles is incinerated or dumped into our landfills. Many times well before a garment's life cycle has expired. The Loot resells items that would have likely been destined to the same fate.  The store offers a vintage mixed with modern boutique selection along with its signature "The Loot Box," featuring three department store or better items, guaranteed in excellent used condition, bundled in your size. The Loot Box is  $15 with free shipping, free gift with a pre-order pickup, or available in-store

"I am excited for the opportunity to move into a physical space and engage with customers face-to-face," says Anna Woodward, owner, whom started the business in 2018 selling primarily through online platforms. "Clarence provides an excellent location being at a cross-point between Cedar Rapids and the Quad Cities metropolitan areas. I'm looking forward to partnering with the local Main Street community, and was attracted by the success the local program has achieved, the enthusiasm they have for their downtown, and the energy they bring."

The Loot will be open Thursday evenings and Saturdays through the end of 2019 and during special events. Follow the progress on Instagram @thelootresale or contact Anna directly at thelootresaleboutique@gmail.com.
